Hello and welcome to fifth grade! I can’t believe the summer has come and gone so quickly. I am very excited to meet you and start a new school year. I had a fantastic summer. I spent most of my time with my four year old daughter, Sophia. Sophia and I had fun at the library and at the pool. I was also lucky enough to take some trips with my husband (Mr. Mott), stepson, Zac, Sophia, and my parents. We enjoyed time in Walt Disney World, Washington DC, the Jersey Shore and New York City. The rest of my summer was spent preparing our classroom and planning some projects that I think you will enjoy working on in class. Although learning the curriculum is an important part of fifth grade, it is just as important to become a responsible student. Not only will we spend time learning the fifth grade curriculum, but I will also work hard to prepare you for what experiences you will have beyond Lafayette. This year you will be given more responsibility to grow and expand your desire to learn, practice your study skills, and develop your study habits. However, please do not be nervous about fifth grade because I will be there to assure that you have a successful year.
